Grillin’ It Up for Miss USA

I got the chance to cook on site at the Houma’s House Miss USA event in Darrow Louisiana, and of course, I had a blast!  I met with Tommy and Adam Waller the creators of the Oyster Bed and many other Chefs including the 2015 King of Louisiana Seafood Mike Brewer! I truly LOVE to grill, I’m guessing my passion for it came from my parents, both of them grill really well. We grilled and served Oysters Rockefeller and it was a hit.

The Oyster Bed was cool to cook with because it made the oysters really easy to manipulate. I thought that it was a beautiful serving dish but i was wrong, it actually has a big purpose. The Oyster Bed was created to save the coast of Louisiana and the shells for pre-shucked oysters go back to the coast, preserving Louisiana.  The shape of the bed allows all of the natural juices and flavors to marinate the oysters.
